About This Hour

This Hour: This hour is not the next, nor is it the last. Other useful information, This Hour – we are ok.

This Hour: Hybrid Arts and Stories.

This Hour: It’s personal. We are earnest in this hour.

This Hour: Deep obsessive preparation and investigation on each element of a piece, combined with digging the fertile depths of a total lack of expectation and certainty as to the meaning of any of it and life itself. Time, spent in this way, is surprisingly elastic, and life surprisingly joyous.

This Hour: The joy of saying yes to things. And of saying yes to saying yes to saying yes at the bottom of a bottomless well of water steaming with the warmth of its yesssss like a cauldron, and cackling. Also saying no can be just as exciting.

This Hour: Long term support. Fully investing in this hour means we don’t need to be perfectly achieving the art we ultimately strive at yet. We have years of work to do because we want the inner creative trees to grow strong and supported and supportive. We give ourselves that time and honour every step of the process as each holds its own kind of fruit. We will not try to be somewhere we’re not or we won’t get what nourishment is available around us, in this particular hour.

This Hour:

GAMBLE EVERYTHING FOR LOVE – RUMI

‘If you want what visible reality can give, you’re an employee. If you want the unseen world, you’re not living your truth. Both wishes are foolish, but you’ll be forgiven for forgetting that what you really want is love’s confusing joy.

Gamble everything for love if you’re a true human being. If not, leave this gathering.

Half-heartedness doesn’t reach into magesty. You set out to find God, but then you keep stopping for long periods at mean-spirited roadhouses.

In a boat down a fast-running creek, it feels like trees on a bank are rushing by. What seems to be changing around us is rather the speed of our craft leaving this world.’

This Hour: Lucy Watson and Erica J Brennan
